The 2011 summer has been filled with great stories of HomeSchool Basketball All-American’s that have enjoyed very successful summers. The latest significant accomplishment for a HomeSchool Basketball All-American this summer is KC Metro Maverick star Caley Shaffstall who recently (July 14-17) played in the Miss Basketball Elite Showcase Tournament in Kearney, NE. Caley made the All-American Team by leading the entire tournament in four categories

Caley led the tournament field in the the following categories: scoring, 3-pointers made, scoring average, and average 3 pointers per game. She is currently fifth all-time in Miss Basketball single tourney scoring history!

Caley joins the list of other HomeSchool Basketball (NCHBC) All-American’s who have had great stories from the 2011 summer, other stories include THESA Rider Moriah Jefferson committing to UCONN,  HCYA Warrior Justin Jackson winning a Gold Medal with USA Basketball, & the OKC Storm graduate Terran Alford signing a NCAA Division I Scholarship.

During the summer Caley Shaffstall plays for KANSAS ELITE and her coaches Rex Stewart and Todd Kane "(have) been great to Caley (in) providing (her) the opportunity to be part of a team made up of largerly of public school kids."

In order to truly appreciate Caley’s accomplishment we want to point out that there were 64 teams from across the country with 640 players in attendance at the Miss Basketball Elite Showcase in Kearney. Caley’s stats are listed below but after the tourney they found she had made two more three pointers than originally accounted for bringing her to 32 in 8 games which was two off the all-time tourney record of 34 held by Laurie Koehn-K-State and NCAA all time leading 3 point shooter.
